Question list
120 get to know you questions
Questions // Family friendly
Easy openers, silly ones, a set for coworkers, one for the classroom and the deeper ones you save for later. All our own, and fine for any table.
A good get to know you question is easy to answer and hard to answer badly. Nobody freezes on "What did you eat a lot of as a kid?", and the answer always says more than the question asked. The bad ones sound like a job interview. The good ones start a story.
We wrote these 120 ourselves, in six sets, from easy openers to the ones you save for later in the night. They work for new friends, new coworkers, a class on the first day of term or a family dinner where someone has brought a new partner. All of them are family friendly.
How to use them
- Start light. Open with the easy set. People warm up faster when the first answer costs them nothing.
- Answer it yourself first. If you ask the question, go first. It sets the length and the tone.
- Follow the story, not the list. When an answer gets a laugh or a "wait, what?", ask one more about it before you move on.
- Let people pass. Anyone can skip a question, no reason needed. It keeps the whole thing fun.
